If you’re reading this, it probably means you came out to watch our interactive basketball/theatre experiment called MONDAY NIGHTS. Or maybe you saw one (or more) of us feverishly posting about final standings, purple hearts or #loserdoeslaundry in the past couple of weeks. Or maybe you’re one of the many people who donated so generously to our project because you believed in us.
If you’re reading this, we’d like to thank YOU. Thank you for your interest and support. Thank you for being curious. Thank you for being brave. Thank you for being in the moment. And thank you for playing with us.
Last night, we celebrated the culmination of six years of our work at our closing night peformance. It was the result of countless hours of heated discussions, experiments and rehearsals about what the piece could be. It was the result of a shared dream we’ve had for a long time – to share our love for the game and our love for each other with you, our audience.
Thanks to you, our show was successful beyond our wildest dreams.
Theatre critics called MONDAY NIGHTS:

It’s been a long journey and we finally get a much needed rest.
This morning, we’re icing knees, tending to bruised ribs, rehabbing ankles and giving our bodies rest after our whirlwind run of MONDAY NIGHTS. But the game isn’t over.
Thanks to YOU, our producing and development partner The Theatre Centre recently announced that we’ll be re-mounting MONDAY NIGHTS in July 2015! We couldn’t be more happy to have another chance to share this piece with you again.
We’re so grateful to Franco, Aislinn, Remington, Justis, Julia and the entire team at The Theatre Centre for their enthusiastic and dedicated support of MONDAY NIGHTS. We also want to recognize the substantial contributions from the Ontario Arts Council, Toronto Arts Council and Wu Chien Michael Than Foudnation for making our production possible. We thank our all-star design team: David DeGrow, Christopher Stanton and Camellia Koo and our Stage Manager/Coach Laura Baxter who’s art and craft brought our vision to life. Thank you to our outside eyes, Franco, Nina, Aaron and Julie for their feedback, to our movement coaches Ben Kamino and Andrea Mapili, and to our former members Marjorie Chan, Jovanni Sy and Nicco Lorenzo Garcia for their invaluable contributions. Thanks to Franco Nguyen for jumping in as a collaborator, Christine Mangosing for her donor poster design work and to our photographer Dahlia Katz.
And last but certainly not least, our Producer Renna Reddie, a force full of great ideas but mostly her boundless support for each captain!
As we enter our “off-season” we look forward to tweaking the show for our remount next year. Please stay in touch with us by following us on Facebook (6th Man Theatre Collective), on Twitter (@6thManTheatre) and on Instagram (6thmancollective). In addition to sharing news about our show, we’ll share the occasional community basketball post and we’ll even send open invitations to play outdoors with us. Over the next week, we’ll also be announcing the winners of some fun awards so stay tuned!
Again, thank you for being a part of MONDAY NIGHTS and for helping to make our show a SLAM DUNK!
Byron, Colin, Darrel, Jeff and Richard
